About Us
At Matrix Pain Management, we offer a multi-disciplinary approach to decrease
pain and improve our patients’ quality of life. Our caregivers – made
up of board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners – work together
to customize the best course of treatment for you.
Our goal is to deliver consistent, high-quality medical care to our patients. We offer a wide variety of advanced, interventional techniques as part of our comprehensive pain management program.
We accept patients through physician referral. We schedule appointments within two weeks. Patients with cancer, RSD (CRPS I and II) and shingles are seen within 24 hours of their referral.
History
Beginning in 1986, Dr. Richard Lingenfelter operated a pain management clinic for St. Luke’s Hospital. Matrix Pain Management was formed by Dr. Lingenfelter in 1999 and continued its association with Covenant HealthCare. As the number of patients increased, physicians including Dr. Michael Papenfuse and several nurse practitioners joined Dr. Lingenfelter in specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of pain management on a full-time basis.
In February 2003, Matrix opened in private practice as an interventional pain management center at its present location on Fashion Square Boulevard in Saginaw Township. The current facility at 21,000 square feet allows ample space to comfortably treat the practice’s existing patients with room to expand. In 2003, over 15,000 patients enlisted the help of Matrix.
